You can study at any four year institution that offers bachelors degrees. And “pre-law” isn’t really a major. You can choose your own course of study. Political science used to be the most popular major for people who went on to law school. Now, you can study anything from dance to engineering and still be admitted to law schools. Popular degrees for admission to law school today are business, science, and engineering degrees. The more reputable the college you go to, the better chances of admission you have to reputable law schools. You should consult U.S. News and World Report for information on the specific schools you are interested in and their rankings in specific fields.

Pre-law isn’t actually a major. It’s simply something you declare yourself, and it gives you access to certain resources, such as a pre-law advisor. In reality, you can major in anything.

But I know there are formal pre-law programs at Fordham, at NYU, Columbia, CUNY Baruch, Hunter and Queens College.
