If then number is below 10, then your must write it out. If the number is 10 or above, then it can be written out as a number.
The only exception is if a number over 10 is grouped with a number below 10. (ex: They grow from age 9 to 11.) In that case, write the number that is below 10 as a number as well.

In the upper right corner 1/2 an inch from the top of the page you need to have your last name followed by the page number. This will be on every page. On the first page 1 inch from the top of the paper and justified left you need your name, instructor, course and international date, respectively and each on a separate line, double spaced. The entire paper needs to be double spaced. The works cited goes directly on the next line after your final paragraph and NOT on a new page. Additionally, your bibliography starts on the very next line after works cited. This is new.

I believe the rule is numbers one through ten, written out, anything higher, use numbers.
I’m not sure that’s MLA, but that’s what I was taught.

You need to spell out anything from 0-9, everything else you can simply use the number.
