First of all, is your university public or private? I worked in a financial aid office and I have never heard of a school without access to the many national loan programs. Then, have you filled out your Federal Application for Student Aid/ FAFSA, which is free and online? You can get Stafford, etc, loans through the federal aid program if you are willing to do paperwork. These are loans where credit doesn’t matter, although you should know that student loans can never be ‘forgiven,’ or discharged through any kind of bankruptcy, be forewarned.

You could try banks for loans and since you don’t have good credit you’ll probably need someone to co-sign the loan. It’s worth looking into though.

Try Sallie Mae or any of the federal programs. The school should be able to help you.
