Is the verbal and the essay sections of the MCAT similar to the ones on the SAT and ACT?

Absolutely not. Are you kidding? This is not a test designed for everybody. It’s designed for people going into medical school. The verbal section assesses your ability to understand and evaluate information from written passages and the writing section has you respond to two medicine related prompts. This test is much much harder than the SAT and ACT. And the questions are much more specific.

Yeah most definately not!!! I just bought some ExamKracker Verbal books because the 101 passages book is a very good estimate of what the MCAT will look like.

Why do you want to take it? Do you want to see how you do, so you can prepare to take it in a later year? In my state, you can get books from any library within the state and so there are plenty MCAT review books. See if there are any review books at your library. You can take a practice test and see how you do. The one thing you want to ensure is that if you do take a practice test, that your scores are not sent to the medical schools you apply to. Supposedly with the SAT, all scores are sent and with the ACT, you select the score reports the colleges will see.
