major decision?!?

I will be going to college next year in the United States as an international student. This year i am applying for the TOEFL and direction to colleges. For now, i have plans to register for community colleges only. After college, i want to find a job and then get to university. I have no idea what my major will be. By going in undeclared, I think college more would be more difficult for myself. I need some reassurance. How did it work out for you? I am interested in helping others. I always believed that God has called me to be a nurse, but lately i am having second thoughts. Also, i can speak various languages – Dutch, English, and Chinese of 3 dialects. I want to get involved in something creative, helpful, and of less stress. I dont want to study for long. I am not interested in business. I considered counseling, but that takes awhile. Can anything be easier? Enlighten me! Please detail. Thank you.

Do not believe any ppl about making choice of your future.

First, try to get into your college.

Meet Counselors and some staff at Career center, you will get trusted details from them.

Second, take classes of related to what you like, then you can get insight about careers from it.

Discussing your career or major with some of teachers is also a good point.

TOEFL is not so complicated but u will take another test provided by school when you arrived in USA.

There are majors and minors you can choose. As you are gifted with many languages, For example, you can major in International Relation, and minor in Psychology or whatever related to Humanity…you can Major in Nursing and minor in Humanity-related minor as well..

Try to converse with your counselor at college is a good choice..

Think about future of the jobs too….You might like it because of your emotion now but you might hate it in the future. So be long-term thinker!

Community College is a going choice they are smaller and the faculty usually has more time to take an interest in students. It also gets you used to the college atmosphere. When you get settled visit the academic counseling center for advice on career fields. They have special aptitude test that will help guild you in options which fit with what your skills, interests and personality traits. These might help you narrow your choices. As you continue your education both in life and in school you will find your calling.

You obviously have a talent for language if you speak all that you claim so maybe you should consider language, arts and mass media as subjects towards a career in international translation.

are you referring to a bachelor’s degree?

anyhow, its best if you choose something to major in first…

perhaps you could take nursing, but only a few classes at a time to test your appetite for it, along with the liberal core requirements and electives

in other words, PICK a major
