I’m sure you’re feeling anxious about all the things you could possibly do wrong. You shouldn’t worry though. Once you get there and spend a few days figuring things out, you’ll wonder why you were so nervous about it in the first place.
If you can, go have a tour of your school. Find out where you locker is and where your classes are. Also find out where the cafeteria is. Most schools will let you come in and walk around.
Then when the big day comes, just feel confident that everything is going to be ok and be yourself.
Good luck!
What to embrace is school itself. Pay attention in school. Do your homework. Get involved in your school. Sports and such. The more you do the better. I never did that and it was hard for me to learn how to do many things at once which is called multitasking. It’s one of the most important elements you can learn in life.
Don’t worry about school. Don’t worry about being “cool”. You spend tons of time worrying about who thinks your cool and who thinks your not. You waste so much time that can be used having lots of fun and enjoying being young and carefree.
Good Luck and God Bless
What you should avoid is:
– associating with students who are not interested in learning.
-girls who are “boy crazy” meaning that is ALL they are interested in period.
-cliques or people who are not friendly to others or are mean in general.
-falling behind in your studies.
-being late to school or accessively absent.
-drugs and alcohol if you are offered.
-gang affiliation or wannabees.
You are growing up. Remember that most high schools look very hard at your middle school transcripts; especially the 7th grade year.
Enjoy your new learning experience. You are ready!
