The only caveat I would add is that absolutely DO NOT bring anything that would be irreplaceable. My dorm life was pretty tame, but even then, things get “borrowed” all the time and not necessarily returned in prime condition.
Welcome to college.
If you are staying in a dorm- mini fridge is awesome to have. In the dorm, to do laundry you might need quarters (some have gone to another system instead of coins so you would have to check).
Check out the college website- see if there is information for incoming freshman.
A really good backpack or rolling back. I had a bookbag with a leather bottom that I STILL have . It was awesome!
Leave all your HS stuff behind! It sounds silly to say, but some people brought their yearbooks and stuff- ugh! Waste of space. Do bring pictures of your family and friends. You will want to share those.
Its a great experience! Enjoy it 🙂
You may want to seriously consider a laptop computer, if you don’t have one already. There will be times that you want to work on the road, or sitting outside on a nice day…which is limited if you don’t have a laptop.
At the very least, get a Flash Drive to save your work on. It will make it a lot easier for you to transfer documents from computer to computer.
I would focus on orginazational things for your dorm room. And decorations, they are all so plain and white you have to decorate to make it feel a little homey.
