Boarding School & Dogs?

I just recently got a dog that I love dearly. But, I am a high school student and have an opportunity to go to this AMAZING boarding school. As fate would have it, the school doesn’t allow dogs. The rest of my family didn’t particularly want the dog in the first place so I would feel guilty to just get up and go to this school. But, I also do not want to sell the dog. Any advice?

If you love the dog as much as you say you do, please find a good home for it, or decide to stay home so you can care for it yourself.

If you decide to go to boarding school, don’t leave the dog with your family if you have concerns about the kind of care and love it will receive.

The ultimate act of love is to be selfless.

Ahh… the traditional dog – boarding school issue, even worse than leaving your family : ] I had the same problem. I really wanted a small puppy for my birthday that I could dress up and stuff but I was trying to decide between a day or boarding school. Because my family has 2 dogs already they made it clear it was boarding or dog. I decided that boarding school is just such an amazing opportunity that I would only regret if I gave up! Though, that was simpler seeing I didn’t already have the dog in my arms. I would say to find a nice friend that loves dogs and give it them for free (who doesn’t want a free dog) and then they won’t be able to refuse, and you can visit it! You really will regret skipping the boarding school though I have a ton of sympathy for you about the dog. But there aren’t any schools that allow pets and don’t try to hide one in your room (my brother tried that when he went to boarding school too.) I miss my dogs too but there will be so much excitement and traditions and mixers to keep your mind off of it! Good luck and congradulations on the acceptance.

Maybe if you have a close friend that you trust maybe they could take care of your dog for you.

Unless you could talk to the people at the boarding school and tell them you have no where to take the dog and maybe you could make some kind of arangement.

If not, there are boarding houses for animals aka kennels where you can take your dog and they will clean them, feed them, watch them, and supposidley walk them and things.

I took my dogs there once but I think they tease the dogs.

So i wouldnt recomend to take your dog there but if your desperate you might have too.

Good luck!
