Will i ever be excepted into a college?

i’ve always been in general classes through out high school. My grades were always okay usually B’s or C’s. The only class i failed was french my freshman year. However my junior year i became very sick and had to go on home bound at the end of the school year for the last two months. This caused me to fail my geometry and chemistry classes. Next year i was put into an easy science class (enviornmental science/marined biology) and a very easy math class (consumer math) will i be able to be accepted into a college? I plan on taking classes at my community college for a year before i start to apply? So what do you think do i have any hope!? I really want to go to Drexel in PA.

Community college is a great idea. Then, when you transfer to a university your high school career is not even looked at for acceptance, only your performance at the community college.

You really should improve your spelling before applying to university though.

Yea, you will be accepted to college. Colleges are businesses, they want tuiton as much as the next business.

Take a year at the community college to really boost your grades and get some gen eds out of your way. Aim for no less than a B, or a B+/A- if you’re serious about Drexel.

If you are going to a private school, the higher your GPA the higher your scholarship is going to be and therefore the cheaper your education will be – a $35,000/year education could easily be knocked down to $10-$15K/year if your grades are solid. Colleges also like to see someone buckling down. So buckle down, get good grades, and be on top of things this year.

(I was really sick my sophomore year – I never failed anything, but I had two D’s on my transcript and a few C’s in Math. I still got into a good school with a scholarship. It does happen.)

ABSOLUTELY! First place to start with your education is at home… read lots… and check your grammar and punctuation even when you’re writing on Yahoo Answers. This is a blessing in disguise because you get to practice where you’re most comfortable..

Community College is a MUST… it’ll give you a foundation to build on… which will prepare you for higher learning. Also… have a dictionary/thesauraus handy… you have no idea how much it will come in handy when you hear people speaking using huge words… it can be daunting… but you will eventually broaden your vocabulary…

YOU CAN DO IT! If you want it bad enough… 🙂

Good Luck! 🙂

Why Drexel? Given your situation, you will not be accepted, unless perhaps you are a minority. Definitely start at a community college and stay away from “C’s”. Always strive for “A’s” but sometimes accept that “B” Accumulate at least 18 credits with no less than a 3.25 GPA

You should be able to get into college. Look online and see what requirements Drexel has. There’s a website my daughter went to that told what GPA different colleges require. You should also find out if they require the ACT or SAT and what the minimum score they will take is.

Of course you do! And community college is a good way to start – you could start there for your Associates, then transfer to a 4-year.

Do well in community college and you should be fine. Remember, when writing essays, it is always best to take ownership of your failures and say how you learned from them. Best of luck! P.S. I think you meant “accepted” not “excepted.”

A junior college with good success might help.

Its not hard to be accepted into a college, but if you are picky about where you want to go, you might find problems.
