Why is it that in High School the teachers diss the students?

I think it may have something to do with the teachers thinking that by a certain age, the students should know how to control themselves. Sit down in class listen and apply themselves to the work that needs to be done. The teachers know themselves how important it is for the students to get the most out of school so they can better their lives(the students) and go on to have a fulfilling life and career. So when the students misbehave (and the teachers then ‘diss’ them, some teachers take it as a personal insult that the student does not want to learn)

If they didn’t think this way(the teachers) then I don’t think that they would have chosen to be teachers.

Sometimes teachers can get just as stressed out about school as you do. Imagine how you would feel if you had a classroom full of kids that didn’t listen, talked while you were talking, and never did their work. Now I’m not saying that you are one of those students and if your teacher is being disrespectful to you in a way where you are uncomfortable then you should talk to a counselor. However, once in awhile we have to put ourselves in the other person’s shoes. Your teacher may have a lot more riding on his/her shoulders than you might think.

While not acceptable from a teacher for any reason, I can see where life and job related stresses could lead them to consider things like that. I am a college student seeking my teacher licensure, and my philosphy is that the individual should be treated with the same amount of respect in which they show.

not all do but if you have a teacher that does i think it could be that 1 they feel that you are being rude and disrespectful toward them or 2 they are bring problems from home to work or 3 the teacher just doesn’t understand your age group.

Because teachers at this point have no respect for themselves.

Did you do your homework? Are you wiping boogies on your neighbor? Are you acting like an overactive hormonal-driven poodle?

So glad I don’t do high school.

sometimes the teachers are so stressed, they can’t take it on anyone but the students.

but it’s not right, so you should tell the principal

its cuz some teachers hate children they are really only in for the money! lol its true

maybe it’s because they get so fed up of it being the other way around
