Which science class to take senior year?

Here’s my situation:

At the end of last year, I signed up for the following:

AP Biology

AP Spanish (but I still have to test in, so it’s not a sure thing)

General Physics

Pre-Calc

Psychology

Civitas (history class)

Anatomy and Physiology

As you can tell, I have a lot of science courses! I’ve never had that many science classes before, and I don’t know if I can handle the work load. I’m just wondering if

A. It’s worth taking all of this senior year to look good.

and

B. If you had to choose between AP Bio and Anatomy, what would you choose? (I have to take the Physics course and everything else no matter what).

Thanks for any help or advice that you can give!

I agree, dude, AP Bio seems a lot more intense, but it is really just a lot of memorization, which doesn’t take mentality…it takes perspiration and effort, which I’m SURE you have, based off of the credentials and ambition I see in your senior schedule “draft”

Anatomy doesn’t seem like that much of a challenge…but considering your course load, perhaps that’s exactly what you want…

If you want to be more relaxed this year and have a decent social life…with little to no stress, take anatomy…and you’ll have no worries all year…because trust me…if you’re being forced to take physics and are not taking it b/c you LOVE it, you’re going to have enough to worry about all year…and to top it off with another AP class….ouch…

To me, physics matters….physics is like equivalent to both anatomy and AP bio at the same time…it SUCKS! 😀

however…if you really are interested in mitochondria, ribosomes, and genetics, etc. (:D), then you should check out AP Bio…b/c it IS comprehensive and will tell you what you need to know

also….it depends what colleges you are applying to…if you want to go to the Ivies…you need AP Bio over anatomy…but if you’re going to a state school, you can take anatomy easily and still look VERY impressive….

Hope that helps! 😀

If you did well in all your other science classes, I’d try AP Physics, just because AP classes look better to colleges – Physics is a ton of math though, so if you’re good at that, I’d go for it. Buuuut, if you don’t want to do that, I think Anatomy or Marine Biology would be fun, and they’d be somewhat of a continuation of the Bio class you already took. Good luck!

My thought is no, it’s probably too heavy of a load if you want to have friends, go on a date, make your prom, etc. I suspect you already look pretty good on paper, and colleges are more and more interested in a well-rounded individual rather than an academic with no other interests.

That being said, I’d go with AP Bio. I took AP Bio in high school, and took the 1 credit lab in college (required by by university to get the 3 point lecture credit.) Then, I transfered schools. The AP Bio didn’t transfer across, so I ended up with 4 credits of anatomy/physiology and 5 credits of botany from that one AP class. Bio covers anatomy, so it’s more well rounded. Also, if there is one section of AP Biology that isn’t your thing (I personally HATED the botany section), it’s over in a few weeks and you move on to another section.

Good luck to you!

Wow, that’s one hell of a schedule. But its great, colleges love to see students taking academic classes. I’d go with the AP Bio, so you can atleast try and get a college credit at the same time. Anatomy is nice, I took it, but if you can kill 2 birds with one stone – take AP Bio.
