Which college or university would you recommend for a possible psychology major?
Also, exactly what could I do with a bachelor’s degree in psychology?

I am actually a psychology major at UCB so I am familiar with it. When it comes down to it though, the undergraduate portion is not that important compared to the graduate program. UCB’s graduate program far surpasses the undergraduate program.
So this is sort of an answer to your second question. You pretty much have to go on to more psychology study after your undergraduate degree. This means going back to school for perhaps clinical psychology, research related psychology, or even medical school. According to UCB statistics, the average bachelor’s degree in psychology student makes an annual income of around $35,000 but the majority of jobs they hold are managerial positions at retail stores, and jobs of similar stature. True story actually, my manager at a toy store had a bachelor’s in psychology from Berkeley! Suffice it to say, I was very worried about my own future. Hahaha. He’s a constant reminder to me that I must continue on in my studies beyond just the first 4 years.
I wish you well!
Professions with a bachelor’s in psychology are case managers, mental health counselor, or vocational counselor. You could probably get a crisis hot line job while in college.
Good luck and good choice for choosing college!
