Where in the USA is the lowest housing costs and the highest teacher salaries?

I am thinking of relocating because the housing prices are impossible in L.A. I’d like to continue teaching wherever I move. So the combination of high teacher salary and low housing costs would be ideal for me.

Suburban Houston, TX

New 3000 sq ft houses = $250k

Teacher salary schedules $40k-$70k

Try Katy, Conroe, or Tomball ISDs

I am sure that’s EVERY teacher’s idea haha

I did across some article where the living expense is relatively low and the education is outstanding. Maybe since it’s a good school, they will give you good teacher salary? You should research by going to their official website whether they are hiring a teacher or not. Here is the link for the article:

Hope this helped! 🙂

If anywhere, I would think Texas…but honestly, low housing prices don’t normally go with high paychecks. I moved from Anaheim to the central midwest 3 years ago, and while housing prices rock, the job situation…doesn’t.

Im thinking you can go anywhere but California

and find low housing costs. Try Texas. I’ve seen

salaries somewhat comparable to Cali and the

homes are several hundred thousand dollars

cheaper!

Why? A instructor commencing at $45k in CA makes comparable to a instructor commencing at $35k in ny while fee of dwelling is factored in. it particularly is almost impossible to make a honest assessment.

The MOTOR CITY baby. The government will even buy you a house and forgive your student loans.
