I have one in history. I find it is still hard to find a job. While students with degrees in the humanities usually start off making less than other groups. Studies have shown that they also get moved up quicker in companies and actually make more money than the others do. If you want a good general degree I say go for business degree. Then maybe minor in like HR you know human relations. After about 5 years in an HR office you will be able to get very good and higher paid jobs in the area of HR. It is a good field if you like people and are good at things like dispute resolution and so on. If you want English, make communications your major with a minor in advertising and marketing. They usually do good as well. Best of luck if I can do anything to help let me know. 🙂

There are many degrees that would open a lot of doors for good jobs. If you are looking to get into writing or editing, you could major in English. If you are good at remembering things and would like to work in a museum or become a historian, you could major in History. If you have good work ethic and are looking to make good money, you could major in Business (but to make the big bucks, you should probably get your Masters as well). If you are really smart and don’t mind research, then you could major in Biology.

Probably the most general major I can think of is Liberal Arts, or Leadership, both of which could take you places.

Also keep in mind that you could either double major or add minors. It really just depends on your interests and personal preferences. Good luck!

I would obtain a chemistry degree. Not only do you obtain practical lab experience and deep theoretical knowledge, you also learn how to improve your oral and written communication skills.

English is probably your best bet because every employer wants someone who can speak and write correctly.
