What should I do about my college payment problems?

I have a problem paying for my college bill. My mom and I cannot pay for my bill alone. FAFSA has not helped at all with my payments, and my mom can’t cosign for me, even though I have very good credit. Also, no one around me wants to cosign for me, and I can’t get loans alone due to limited credit. What should I do?

I hope you find a way around this and can get your education.

Do they have a hardship department in college to help you out?

I think in the UK they are much more supportive about helping you get educated and its less elitist.

How much IS the bill?

I know this probably isn’t what you want to hear, but have you looked at a lower cost institution? $30,000 is a lot to pay for a college education when their are lower cost public colleges and community colleges. Maybe look at doing the community college route the first year or two to get your general studies out of the way and then transfer to this school? It would be great if you could go to your first choice school, but these days it sometimes just isn’t financially feasible.

Hi, you didnt mention if you have student loans such as stafford loans. but usually when you have staffords, you dont have to pay until you are out of school. Plus they give you 6 months after graduation to start paying back.
