The short answer to your first question is that no score is bad on an AP test. It shows colleges that you are willing to challenge yourself.

As to the second part of your question, I’m honestly not sure, but here is what I know: If you are going to attend a less selective school, I’m sure that they’ll take your 3. However, if you want to attend an Ivy League school, those take nothing less than a 5. And of course, there are schools that only take 4s and 5s.

Even if your school of choice doesn’t grant you credit for the score, it could help you with admissions, especially in the case of an Ivy League school.

This year on the AP World exam, about 10% of students got 5s, about 15% got 4s, about 25% got 3s, and the other half failed. The average score was a 2.6 so I’d say a 3 was pretty good. Not the best, but it’s a challenging course and it still looks good on your transcript.

It really depends on the college you go to. I don’t think most colleges will you give credit for it. You may get a few credit hours for it from some colleges, though.

it’s not horrible but if you can retake it, i would definitely suggest doing so. it’s kind of in the middle and most kids study like crazy for those tests since they are costly and important for college, therefore they get higher scores. it really just depends on the college though.
