what should i do?

right now im taking chem classes at smc and they arnt going so well. =[

i have abouuuttt a C.

it goes into my record and college transcript and some people are telling me to drop it if im not gonna get an A or a high B becuase itll look bad on college apps and that might hold be back from getting into UCLA or somehting.

but if i drop it, all my work for this summer is just simply wasted and i wont be able to take AP bio next year and ill have to take chem ALL OVER AGAIN next year.

other kids in my class say that they would keep thier grade if it was a C…even though it looks bad. but some kids that actually go to ucla say it wont look good and that i should maybe drop it.

is it true that one C at an Smc college credit class can look so bad on a transcript??

plus what would you do in my situation? drop or keep (keeping in mind iits a C and once you decide to keep it, you cant change your mind and drop it later…)

No Matter the classes you take even if you drop the class it will still be looked at. What I would do is look at your GPA and see how much that C will hurt you. I would keep it and just see if you can have someone with a better grade help you figure out what your not understanding so that you can get a better grade. I had taken college courses when I was in High School cause my school didn’t have advanced classes. When I didn’t understand something I got help from other students or students that had taken the class and passed with a great grade so that I can have a better understanding. If you feel this will hurt you why don’t you call UCLA and see what you will need to get into the school. I know they would be more then happy to help you see what they will look at and if your C will hurt you in any way. I will give you the link to UCLA admin office so you can talk to someone. Getting into UCLA has more factors then just that C you have. I really hope that C dont hold you back in any way when you try to get into UCLA cause its a great college.

UCLA get thousands of transferred application in every semester. a “C” is not great to look at on paper. Just keep your class and don’t drop. Just do better from now on.

Don’t drop those classes. You will have to retake and pay for those classes again. Do better and get those grades up to A’s and B’s.
