I would check your university’s policies on attendence and final examinations prior to making any reservations. If the overall university policies conflict, you will not be likely to take them early. However, in my own experiences, professors themselves are usually kind enough to work with students. If the university policy doesn’t strictly prohibit it, check with your professors next. The only problem I would see you encountering here is if they refuse to create multiple exams and refuse to allow you to take the exam at a separate time from everyone else if it is the same exam. If both these conditions happen, they probably will not let you. However, I have rescheduled several exams in the past with no problems.

Whatever happens, enjoy your honeymoon!

It depends on your university. At mine, some of the teachers would make an exception for you, and some likely may not. So you are going to have to decide what is more important at this point in time in your life….your studies or a honeymoon. Although it stinks to put off a honeymoon, you can always take a different cruise at another time in the year. I wouldn’t plan on my teachers letting me out of class a week early without first speaking to them. Although…if you have your course schedule, you could begin contacting them now to ask.

Maybe. Why not email your professors right now and ask, before you schedule the cruise and pay the money? Professors are online over the summer, and I’m sure they’d respect your checking with them in advance, rather than telling them you’ve already scheduled it.

You won’t know until you ask your instructor/professors. A lot of schools are losing federal funding when students are not in class. However, I’m not sure if this applies to colleges and universities. I know the community college I attended, if you couldn’t make the final you were SOL period. So . . . do your homework and find out your schools policies and find out if there are any work arounds. Good luck.

I don’t know about your particular school, but we aren’t allowed to let anyone take exams early, since too many students were scheduling travel early in an attempt to extend their vacations, which then shortened the semester to a point which put us into jeopardy with the accrediting organization. I can sympathize with your situation, but you may not be able to do this.
