I’m planning to double-major in English and Advertising. I chose English because it’s been my favorite subject for as long as I could remember. I love reading different books like Catcher in the Rye, In the Time of the Butterflies, The Awakening, etc. I tend to love and appreciate books more after I analyze them and I love interpreting books, stories, poetry etc. which makes English classes so interesting to me. I also love to write and I’m good at it so I’ve always known that i would major in English no matter what. I’ve always known that English isn’t very lucrative and started researching Advertising and I really think it’s something interesting that i would like to pursue as a career plus the majors together really complement each other 🙂 I’m going to be starting my coursework in Advertising in fall (I’m excited to see where it’s going to take me ).

I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Child Development. I had orginially planned on Secondary ed and history but like they say – I took a child development class and I was hooked!! I really enjoyed the classes that dealt with how a child learns things and how envirnomental pieces play a role to some extent. I can;t say I use a lot of the how to teach math like classes since I have been teaching for 10 years and have developed my own philosophy but I use my child development background since becoming a mom! I even use a bit of my Reading masters! (if you can believe that!!) I picked my major because of the sense of satisfaction I got from a majority of the projects and assignments and I followed my heart and knew that teaching was something that I could make my own!

My major is English(literature in particular). I have a minor in Creative writing that may become a second major next semester. I love reading and interpreting literature as well as writing it.

I picked English because I love to read and write. I also used it because I want to write for a living but realistically I know that I will be able to make a living as a teacher better and quicker than as a writer. While I do love to teach, I love to write more than anything.

My major is biology/linguisitics. I really enjoy both so I decided to double major. I’m interested in doing some type of neurobiology connected to the language and brain. I’m not sure what kind of jobs that will get me, but I do plan on going to grad school.

Have you ever heard of genetics and how that relates to what languages you are better at and stuff like that? That’s why I decided to major in both of these very different fields. It is really quite interesting.

biomedical engineering is is the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with the medical and biological science to help improve patient health care and the quality of life of healthy individuals. The reason I chose it because I like the field and also I am planning for med school . Since it is a biology field that will help.
