what is the word used for debate and logic when…?
someone uses an example that seemingly relates to their argument… it is used to elicit emotional response, often by demonstration of magnitude or long term effect… and used to emphasize their own point of view or undermine their opponents… when the example, the argument they use, is irrelevant or unconnected or wont happen the way they demonstrate.
