first night is actually the first night after marriage which is supposed to be the night for having sex first time previously. but now a days this is only a ambiguous phrase.

After marriage, the couple are made to take blessings on a occasion of first night. On this night, i couple are allowed legally to sleep with each other..it’s not exactly for having sex, it may be for some understanding. normally ppl dont have sex on this day is it’s a arranged marriage as they try to understand each other openly..
