What is the easiest way to establish California residency?
I would like to attend college in CA, but my immediate family lives in OR. I have aunts, uncles in grandparents in CA. Is there any way to avoid out of state tuition?

here is the link to humboldt state universities residency guidelines. i would imagine it will be similar for all public california universities. go to the website of the school you are interested in and search residency.

My friend got into a community college in California by having some of her bills sent to her cousin’s house which had a Cali. address. The trick is to find out which bills the college of your choice asks for. Sometimes it’s just any bills and other times it needs to be things like phone, electric etc. So, I would call the college you would like to attend and ask them which bills. Then there is always the actual route of moving to Cali. but this way is much easier.
