what is the domain and range of f^-1(x), if f(x) = 7x-1. And HOW DO I DO IT!? Thanks?

the domain and range for any linear function is x = all real number and y = all real number unless there is a domian that is set with the function.

y = 7x – 1

to find the inverse, exchange x and y and solve for y.

x = 7y – 1

x + 1 = 7y

y = (1/7)x + 1/7

f^-1(x) = (1/7)x + 1/7

the inverse is also a linear function

domain: x = all real number

range: y = all real number

Ha!!
x = 7y – 1

7y = x + 1

y = (x + 1)/7

the inverse function is: f^-1(x) = (x + 1)/7

domain: all real numbers

range: all real numbers
