The highest denomination U. S. bill ever printed was the $100,000 bill, with Woodrow Wilson’s portrait. It was a gold certificate printed in 1934 and was only used for transactions between banks and different parts of the government.
Since 1945 the largest bill that has been printed in the U. S. is the $100 bill with Benjamin Franklin’s portrait. These are still being produced.
