The purpose of a biographical sketch is to present the subject as fully as possible. In the case of Chopin, the author is trying to portray him as a real, three-dimensional person, with likes, dislikes, abilities and klutzy moments. Chopin’s world was music, so the sketch would relate to his progress in that field

Biographies are written in second-person, so you’ll be looking at your life, accomplishments, and goals through a narrator’s voice. A biographer would interview people in your life to get an understanding of who you are and how you felt about things, even if you weren’t able to accomplish them yet. So, the biographer will gather facts about your life and will write about them, probably in a chronological order. But a good biographer will also try to include stories or incidents that would help the reader understand your character and your goals.
