What is included in Plane Geometry?

I have to write 2 summaries for Maths!

I was wondering if you could tell me the key headings and points, topics what ever that is under Plane Geometry?

So far I have written about

Similar Triangles

Parallel Lines

Congruent Triangles

Is there any other Major points? Or am i completely on the wrong track?

Thanx for your help!

All of these things are in planer (or Euclidean) geometry, but they are not unique to it. To better understand, can you tell me what is NOT planer (or Euclidean) geometry?

Plane Geometry is simply the study of shapes and their relationships in a flat planer surface. It includes (probably) everything of which you have studied since it is the most widely studied type of geometry.

As an example of something that is not, imagine geometry on the surface of a sphere. Start with a right angle up at the north pole. Extend the rays to the equator. Then consider the intersection of each of these rays with the equator itself. Since each ray goes south and the equator runs east /west, they form right angles. We know that the rays from the original right angle at the north pole as well as the equator itself are not lines in a plane. However, in this type of geometry, they ARE lines. The three of them intersect (two at a time) to form three vertices to a triangle. This strange triangle has THREE RIGHT angles! Try doing that in a plane!

I hope that by explaining about something that is not planer geometry, I have helped you better understand what it is.
