What does this mean?

Hi guys,

I applied to a university and got an e-mail back stating, “Thank you for your email. I have received your transcript, and reviewed your application today. You will receive a letter in the mail shortly.”

What does it mean? I am so confused and nervous. I keep thinking that if I had been accepted why wouldn’t she tell me. Another things I keep thinking is that I have been rejected because she said a letter will be mailed. Can someone please help me understand?

It really depends on what kind of school you applied for. There some universities that are not allow to give any information unless is official. So no telling you whether you are in or rejected is really cause the school has to make it official.

I don’t think that you were accepted or rejected. Email was to let you know that your application was received. The letter will tell you one way or another.

Don’t worry about it. Most universities have a policy to not do correspondence like that through E-mail. It means only what it says.
