Trouble Finding A Major?

I am starting on a new undergraduate degree. I want to major in psychology but there is not enough open jobs. What majors do you reccomend or professions with lots of job openings, security, and makes decent money?

I think you have to find a happy medium between what is practical and what you love. If Psych is what you want, then go ahead. But yes, you will probably have to go to graduate school to find a decent job using the degree.

I majored in Sociology…I believe that may be the least productive BA that exist:(

If you are looking at 4 yr degrees, and you want some job security you will probably need to go towards Math, science, teaching…that type of thing. (Accounting, Computer Science, Education)

Back to the psych major…

If you pick up a second major or minor is Business (for example) it may provide you with more opportunities.

Education and Nursing are always hi-pri jobs. I have a BBA which really hasn’t helped too much, but my M.Ed. has been extremely useful.
