Teaching statistics?
Statistics teachers, does anyone have any ideas for fun ways of teaching an introductory course on statistics?

Couple of ideas that I like to use are to have the students find a large data set related to something they are interested in. Working with their own data sets, the basic statistics methods are taught and then the students get to see the results with something meaningful to them.
I’m also a big fan of simulations. Doing a problem on the board using the statistics theory and then a computer simulation to show the theory working seems to help the students understand the concepts.
