Simple College Question?

It turns out I wont be able to start college in the fall because of money issues. So I’ll have to start in the spring. That means I’ll be behind a bit.So if I take college classes for credit during the summer will that help me get back on track a bit.

Yes, but once you get there, you will find kids that are all over the place.

It took me 5 years to get through college, I went fall-spring-summer, most every year. Good Luck!

You won’t be behind as there is no set rule of years to complete program in general; however, you will end up paying more because the number of years you will be in college. If you cannot go in fall due to financial issues, paying for credits course in summer is not really a good idea. Your financial situation will always hang on your neck.

Anyhow!!

Make sure the college knows you are not going until the spring.

Check with college about courses you like to take in summer. You would take courses that are counted toward your graduation.

It is better if you can:

Check with college with “Community College”. If there is partnership between the admitted college and the community college, you can pay less in community college as a full time student to complete the basics and then back to the college. Some college even has “guaranteed program”, which means they advice courses to take in community college, credits are honored without question, transferral is promised.

Bachelor degree pays. Going to college and get a bachelor degree does promise a better pay; however, there are many jobs required no college degree on the entry level and pay well. The problem with jobs required no bachelor degree is the scope and the narrowed career path; which means you won’t get specific job if w/o bachelor degree or you won’t be promoted or find another equivalent job as smoth as people who has bachelor degree if anything everything is equally the same.

Yes, but don’t worry about being on track. I didn’t start college until a year after finishing high school (I was also 17 and took the year to earn money to help pay for college). I finished college in 7 years but came out with 2 degrees (BA in Literature and BS in Anthropology). I had to work while I went to school (as well as raising my youngest sister), so in the summers I worked more jobs and more hours so that I would be able to take more classes in fall and spring and have more money to fall back on. Do what you feel is necessary, there will be no replacing the job experience and no replacing the degrees that will help you in the future to do what you really want to do.

It seems it would. The traditional college is three semesters – the Summer semester is not attended by the traditional students. They attend the Fall and Spring semesters and finish college in 4 years. You will probably not be able to make up a total Fall or Spring semester in a Summer semester because they usually offer fewer classes in the Summer, but it should help you “get back on track a bit”.

if you take summer classes you’ll be back on track. but I agree with the above post. go to a community college for the fall then transfer your credits in the Spring. and that would save you money and you can earn more credits by going to community in the Fall.

sure, you will possibly nonetheless be a typical year college pupil. It refers to academic years, no longer widely used years, and numerous times refers back to the form of credit you have taken better than the rest.

It doesn’t exactly matter if you start out on track at college. Its totally different from high school.
