Should I send my kids to a Steiner School?

My son has been accepted into a local, traditional primary school which also happens to be (from what we can see) the best school. However, we feel that 5 is just too early for children to start school, and are now looking to enroll him in the local Canterbury Steiner school in Kent.

So, firstly should I do this? What can I expect from him as he progresses through the system and are there any alumni out there that can share there experiences?
