Should I go to college in the US or Canada?
I’ve always wanted to go to college in the US, especially in NYC. For the 1 year MA program at NYU, it’s going to cost me about 35 grand, whereas for a 2 year MA program in my province, it will only cost about 10 grand. I really think it’s worth the exra money to go to NYU since the Tisch School of the Arts is well known, however, it’s the whole money issue that’s making me decide to stay in Canada. Also, because I’m Canadian I wont be able to get financial aid from NYU, only bank loans. What do you think?

It sounds to me like your heart is set on NYU, which is great. I would go for your dreams b/c you’ll always wonder “what if” if you don’t go for it. The loans will be prickly, but simply write your pros and cons down and I think you’ll see what I see, and that is that you want NYU on your resume. Canadian schools though as you can attest to, are nothing to sneeze at. Either way, I think you’re good to go and I wish you lots of luck also!

Go where it’s cheaper. An education is an education. You can alwyas visit or live in NY…even go for a second masters if you can afford it later on.
