*Is Catholic*

Shouldn’t be a problem.

Some pointers.

1. Apply right now.

2. If you really want to go there, call up the office of the Dean of the College at UF that you want to attend. Talk with him, get him to know your name. See if you can talk with an academic advisor for your major.

3. Make sure that you have good letters of recommendation. Have one letter from somebody that can vouch for your personality, character, and hard work. The rest should come from teachers in your discipline that you want to study. For example, if you want to study Biology, then one of your letters should come from your science teacher. Recommendations from important people in your community are good as well.

4. When you apply don’t BS. The people who go through the applications can see BS a mile away. Be your self and talk like you know what you are doing and what you want out of college. For example, skip writing about how cool college will be and how it will make you a more well rounded person. Write about how the particular program will give you the education that you need. If you can be specific, that is great. For example, if UF has a nationally recognized Biology department talk about how that will help you to be a biologist.
