Yes, it’s next to impossible to get a 2400. Just a few missed questions can knock you down 10 points because of the way it works– not only do you not get those points on your raw score, you also lose more points for getting the questions wrong.

That said, you can do really well if you practice for it. The SAT is all about KNOWING the test. It’s not so much about how smart you are or how much you know, but about how much you know about the test. Get a study book so you can know exactly what kind of information is on the test. Study the right KIND of math, the right bits of grammar and vocabulary. Well, and the best way to get to know the test is to actually take the real thing once. Nothing can tell you about the test, how you’ll do, and what you need to work on better than the test itself.

Good luck! Maybe you can get a 2400!

Just Ryan!
straight A’s will not help you here…

im 17. I have a 4.2 (four APs), and my highest score was a 2010. I stopped taking it my junior year, and stuck with my score…

a 2400? your kidding, right? its nearly impossible. how old are you? if your around 15 or 16, you should know the SAT is the hardest test of your life.

the SAT doesn’t base on intelligence, it bases on how well you take tests. personally, i think it is a terrible system and most universities say they will get rid of the SAT reuqirements by 2011.

the SAT is murder. plus, you must write a 5-7 paragraph essay in 25 minutes for the SAT (it counts as 40% of your score).

try using the following systems to take classes from. they will help you learn how to take tests

(personally, i also think if you need a class to teach you how to do well, the test isn’t well-thought of).

Talke classes from:

Eureka

Revolution

Princeton Review

all great courses. they cost a lot, and sometimes aren’t THAT worth it, but they’ll help.

no, you can’t really “study” for the SAT.
