Being a Mom of 7 kids, some home schooled, some chose private schooling, I think the Internet has actually helped them as far as learning!! When they look into a subject, they are exposed to MANY different opinions (like in genetics or stem cell research), where as all I had was a text book with ONE opinion!!

Like everything else in like there are the lazy few that take full advantage of everything out there..and yes, the Internet makes cheating/plagiarism much easier..but those pre-disposed to cheating will always find a way to cheat..

Usage is learning, isn’t it? However…the brains should be used first…I cannot see students using technologies before their brains have been put in gear…ie. calculators used before the mind understands the processes of the math, Inet usage before ethics in workmanship is taught…See???

As far as plagiarism, all citings & writings should require source lists…esp. web-sites…these can then be referenced by the teacher to check on such if questionable content arises, yes?

Learning less, no…learning differently, yes…technology is a great part of our times…some do great things, some should be left in the warehouse…the wise learn the difference.
