Poly sci, public admin, psych, or social services/social work degree online; do you think it’s possible?

I never imagined myself considering the online option; it’s looked down upon yet still expensive.

However, after finally looking at colleges In-state, I’ve realised that many online universities are still cheaper (per credit-hour) than my IN-state tuition would be!

The problem is, the only online degrees that I have seen are for technical fields, and that is the last thing that I would ever be interested in. Perhaps an online degree is the wrong way to go about my preferred majors, but I’m curious; are there online schools where I can recieve a BA in political science, public administration, social sciences, sociology, or social work?

And are federal grants, loans, and other financial aid still available for those “homeschooling” through college?

If you select an online option be sure that the school is also a brick and mortor school as well and that the degree will simply indicate you graduated form the school, not that the degree was taken online. In social work there is NO accredited undergrad program (in particular beware of Canyon College – it is an unaccredited degree mill). You may find parts of an undergrad program offered online, but not the whole program. DA

I would spend the extra money and go to a traditional school. Online degrees are not highly regarded, and many professions won’t even consider them. Trust me the college experience is worth it & you will be better prepared for the working world.

And yes, financial aid is still available for online students as long as it is through an accredited institution.

Yes – Check out Bellevue University- they are a brick and mortar school that offers there programs both in class and online. Your degree does not state online. bellevue.edu offers most or close to it of the majors you mentioned.

and ms tif you ARE WRONG the lady MUST not have completed the work and was telling you stories- cause that school was one of the first to offer students the option of online- 30% of their students have military connections. Their credentials are tops.
