Physician assistant VS Nurse Practitioner?

which is better? they are both practically the same, but i think nursing would be cheaper in the long run (lesser student loans to pay back).

-which do u think will be harder to obtain(class-wise)

-which do u think would pay more ENTRY LEVEL

i am more interested in physician assistant because most likely i would NEVER work in a hospital.

please any advice?

You don’t have to work in a hospital either as a NP. There’s a severe shortages of nurses all over the US right now. As such, I’d choose being a NP as it’d give you more employment options.

The answer to your question all depends on what you what you want to do in the long run.. Currently, nurse practitioners do not have to work in hospitals either, they are at a much higher demand than a physician assistant, and would probably pay a little bit more money. The only thing is this type of degree is a little harder to obtain that a PA degree.

If you’re up for more schooling, NP is the way to go!

NP are in much higher demand, typically pay more, but can be a little harder to get.

The PA program at my school takes you 5 years total (includes three years of undergraduate pre-PA work)

The only bad thing about a PA is that you must work under a doctor and cannot prescribe medication.

Whereas an NP has more freedom and prescribe medication
