Pharmacy school + starting a family?

I plan to go to Pharmacy school at age 22. I would love to start a family before the age of 25. Any current or past pharmacy students have any advice on this situation?

I think I will be able to handle the load of Pharm school plus a family, however, I am optimistic and would love to hear what others might think of this situation.

Thank you!

I definintely wouldn’t advise it. Not unless you’ve got full time help like your mom or mother-in-law.

Getting married is fine. Will be stressful while planning for it, but doable since once the wedding is over, that’s it. A kid is a whole ‘nother story. Just push it back til you’re 27 or 28. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Just remember, the first month to three months, you’ll be on maternity leave dealing with nothing but your new child. If that happens when school is in, say good bye to that semester. It still takes a ton of time afterwards.

you can get married however i wouldn’t advise starting to have children. otherwise it is very common for graduate students to be married when they enter graduate school or get married while in graduate school. they even offer couple housing arrangements. I am a pre-med student and the question of when to start a family is something that i have yet to truly discover. others say wait but they themselves got married right after college. I hope this was helpful. God bless
