A freshman seminar course is generally just for orientation purposes. She will probably learn different information about the college and the many options it offers. It’s really a very simple course and shouldn’t really be fretted over.

It would have been helpful if you had let us know which college she is going to attend. As you can see, some of the answers here are contradictory.
Anyhow, a freshman seminar might be one of two things.
1. A small class, maybe 15-18 students, taught by a professor, that allows incoming freshmen to explore some academic topic. Generally designed to be fun and help the student adjust to college. UC Berkeley has seminars like this.
2. A not-necessarily-small class for freshmen. Designed to inform the student about what college life is about. Apparently some institutions have seminars like this.
Either way, it’s nothing to worry about. If she has a choice, she should pick a topic that she enjoys.
May God bless you.

It’s just a big class that freshman have to take their first year its nothing hard. It’s an orientation type class and its another way to meet as many people as possible. It’s the most exciting class but its a good thing. Nothing wrong with meeting people and getting out of your comfort zone. So nothing to worry about just a lot of group things.
