hmm lets see………

4 2/3=4 4/6 (the LCD between 3 and 6) 2/3×2= 4/6

4 4/6+3 5/6= 7 9/6 (improper fraction)

You change change 4 2/3 to 4 4/6

4 4/6 + 3 5/6 = ?

add the whole numbers

4+3 = 7

add the fractions

4/6 + 5/6 = 9/6

Make that a mixed number

9/6 = 1 3/6 which reduces to 1 1/2

Add that to your whole number

7 + 1 1/2 = 8 1/2

First you add the whole numbers(4 and 3) which equals 7. Then you change 2/3 to 4/6 then add 4/6 and 5/6 which equals 9/6. Change it from a improper fraction to a mixed number which is 1 3/6 or 1 1/2 then add 1 1/2 to 7 and you get 8 1/2.

4 2/3 = 4 + 2/3

3 5/6 = 3 + 5/6

4 2/3 + 3 5/6

= 4 + 2/3 + 3 + 5/6

= (4 + 3) + (2/3 + 5/6)

= 7 + (2/3 + 5/6)

LCD is 6

=7 + (4/6 + 5/6)

= 7 + (9/6)

= 7 + (3/2)

= 7 + (1 1/2)

= 7 + (1 + 1/2)

= (7 + 1) + (1/2)

= 8 1/2

hah okay… 2/3 and 5/6 you have to make the denominators the same.

sooo 6 divided by 3 equals 2. so 3 times 2 equl 6.. and 2 times 2 equals 4. so…. 4/6 + 5/6 = 9/6 or 1 1/2 so 4 + 3 =7 and 7 + 1 = 8 and 8 + 1/2 = 8 1/2 or 8 and 9/6
