Yes! I work in this field. If you have been diagnosed with a learning disability, you are entitled to certain services including modified grading. All of your rights are stated in the Federal IDEA Act. Educational institutions are bound by law to provide you with whatever is needed to give you equal opportunity for education. I hope this helps you!

Learning Disabilities are generally not looked at the same way as Physical disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Usually a 2.1 will get you into some kind of college but not necessarily the major you want. Colleges will reconsider if you try to come back after going to a Community College. The other possibility would be to talk to an attorney if the school has been physically or verbally abusive.

If you can document wrongdoing by the school, you may have grounds for a lawsuit against the school.
Have your doctor refer you to some sort of counselor, or even a therapist who can assist people with mild learning disabilities. College is absolutely NOT out of the question for you! Good luck!

They do take students with Ld into colleges. I don’t know what the gpa qualification is. The problem that you have to consider is that if you could not do the work in high school, how will you do in college? Colleges have qualifications for a reason. On the flip side they do have special education in college;however, it would still be difficult for a person that was LD.
