How do you expect anyone to do this much work on yahoo answers? Im learning japanese, and i dont know how to write in japanese characters (i only know 16 hiragana characters), i AM a japanophile too though, so i can just list the differences on tv in english: 1. Japanese tv shows rarely ever last longer than 12 episodes (1 season) and instead of there being many things happening at once, theres just one main story and the whole show revolves around it. thats pretty much the only main difference. maybe just find it out yourself…

1.8.8 – Ryota I love your answer, just pick the longest one. LOL

1.8.7 – Just use your Katakana chart to do them, they already spelled it in romaji for you.

1.8.6 – Ok, let me help you with writing Kanji numbers. Here are the basic ones:

1 – いち – 一

2 – に – 二

3 – さん – 三

4 – よん – 四

5 – ご – 五

6 – ろく – 六

7 – しち – 七

8 – はち – 八

9 – きゅう – 九

10 – じゅう – 十

100 – ひゃく – 百

1000 – せん – 千

10000 – まん – 万

Now, for two digit numbers it will go like this:

十一 じゅういち 11

十二 じゅうに 12

十三 じゅうさん 13

二十一 にじゅういち 21

二十二 にじゅうに 22

二十三 にじゅうさん 23

三十一 さんじゅういち 31

三十二 さんじゅうに 32

三十三 さんじゅうさん 33

九十七 きゅうじゅうしち 97

九十八 きゅうじゅうはち 98

九十九 きゅうじゅうきゅう 99

百 ひゃく 100

What about numbers over 100?

二百三十一 にひゃくさんじゅういち 231

# of hundreds first + 百, then # of tens + 十, then ones

See if you can do them….

1.8.5

Yen = 円

Number + 円 = How much it is in yen.

So for the first one.

これはいくらですか。

How much is this?

ろっぴゃくななじゅうえんです。

六百七十円です。

670 yen.

For 2. just replace the word “ikura” with the given number in kanji + (y)en and repeat the rest of the sentence, without ka at the end.

Try to do them!

1.8.3 – Sorry I’m skipping around, just working on them as they come to me.

This one is actually pretty easy. Just copy what is written on the left side, and then copy one of the three on the right for a complete sentence. You just have to choose the right verb and the rest is a handwriting exercise.

1. kudasaimashita will be the right verb here, because the subject is giving me, watashi, the object. Try to to the rest and post your answers here.

1.8.1

Just write the sentence, but change only the verb. Make the verb te form (you can use the list you made in the other homework) and add kudasai. That’s it, the rest of the sentence is the same as what is given. Change verb to て form + ください.

1.8.6

1. せんきゅうひゃくろくじゅうしち = 千九百六十七

= 1967

2. はっぴゃくよんじゅういち = 八百四十一

= 841

3. ごせんさんびゃくじゅうに = 五千三百十二

=5,312

4. よんまんななせんろくじゅうはち = 四万七千六十八

=47,068
