Steven, You are correct that work experience is an important factor in business school admissions decisions, but you should not underestimate the importance of your score in the process. The good news is that with the right approach, you can get a good GMAT score. It’s alright that you haven’t taken a standardized test in many years–the GMAT tests a very specific set of skills which can be learned with the proper approach. As I was getting ready to apply to business school, I did some online research on many of the GMAT national prep companies, but I saw some pretty mixed reviews. I went with Powerscore on the recommendation of a friend, and that was definitely the right move. The instructor was very sharp, and approaches I learned were both understandable and useful. When it came time for me to take the test, I was extremely confident–I already had a pretty good idea what was going to be on the exam, because, as I had learned, they test basically the same set of concepts each time. I ended up with a 770! Good luck with your preparation!

If you are looking into prep for the cfa exam, be prepared to get your money’s worth. The best materials cost money. The free materials are made by people who read the materials but present the info as they interpreted them. These people haven’t necessarily earned the charter.

Yes, here is one. But they are still building the site. Many of the posts are videos (Make sure you have flash 8 or above to see the videos). There are already dozens of videos.
