Semester are a little longer so you don’t get slammed with info. A quarter the instructor only has so much time to teach you the full info of the course! They tend to bombard you with information in a very short period of time!! Totally depends on your learning style which one is better.

Doesn’t matter too much. I’ve done both. You graduate in the same amount of time. You end in May for semesters vs June for quarters, but you start in August while quarter system usually starts in late September. Neither has less school. One just starts and ends earlier in the year than the other. Still about 30 weeks of instruction for a regular school year no matter which method you’re using.

Yes, semesters are longer than quarters, but this can be a good or bad thing. Great if the course allows you time to digest and learn the material. Bad if it never lets up or is really boring and you can’t wait for it to be over.

Quarters are nice b/c you can take more courses. If there are fun courses you want to try, the quarter system lets you take more of them.

I have been in both types of systems and based purely on my own experience here is what I experienced.

Quarter System: Advantages are that the quarters start mid September or so – after semester students have already began. And, you get 3 in a regular academic year (not including the 4th which is summer). The downside is that you have to move fast to keep pace, studying had to be much more focused and you also have to pay attention in class. Project and/or paper assignments were usually equal to that of the semester experience I had, in other words same amount of work required.

Semester: I got into the semester system after I completed my Bachelor degree. I personnally preferred this system because the amount of papers/projects were the same, I felt like I had time to digest the material, and didn’t feel the general pressure as I did in the quarter system. The only disadvantage was that after spring break instead of coming back to a new quarter, I carried on where I left off before spring break began. The distinct advantage here was matriculating in May as opposed to June.

Hope this helps!

college has no longer in any respect been a need. yet whilst i glance into pastime commercials, do you realize what I many times see? “applicants could very own a level/degree…”. each and every person needs a powerful solid pastime with a first rate income. the situation is, no longer each and every person is prepared to do the decrease-paying or could I say, ‘grimy’ jobs. Why? with the aid of fact the pay sucks! it is so elementary as that. From the way I see it, there are in basic terms 2 solutions to this query. one million) in case you have a particular occupation in suggestions which you have activity in and you think of you’re able to do properly in it, by all ability circulate forward. monetary help at the instant are abundant. even nevertheless, this assertion is controversial too. 2) whilst you’re unsure approximately your destiny occupation, don’t have the money to speculate, yet have a particular skills that don’t require a school preparation, by all ability, do no longer waste it gradual! invoice Gates grew to become right into a dropout yet he had a aptitude for notebook technologies. he’s effectual. Lee Kuan Yew is a Harvard regulation graduate, he serves as a minister now incomes hundreds of thousands. he’s likewise effectual. So college or no college, it incredibly relies upon on what you think of you’re able to do and which field you think of you additionally could make the main money out of. think of earlier you make investments. think of very very intently…
