Depending on your academic record, geographic location and choice of majors there are scholarships available from most states/schools. Air Force ROTC is a great way to pay for school too. You could get a full ride, your books paid for and a monthly check if you serve 4 years in the AF after college in any field. Also look into Stafford and PLUS loans. Engineering is a great field in high demand if you are good in math and science.

I graduated high school in 2004 and went to college right after. I originally started majoring in business…but have now changed to nursing. A big difference lol. A lot of students change their major once they start school…but a lot of them also don’t. If you’re unsure of what you want to major in, I would advise just doing your generals done until you do decide.

How much you pay for college is going to depend on where you go. Since you’re undecided of what major you want, I suggest going to a community college for the first 2 years to get your generals done. It will save you a lot of money. I am paying for my schooling all by myself…no parental help. Apply for financial aid (FAFSA). I did have to take out some loans…but I currently have no school debt as I pay them off as I go.

I would also suggest talking to your high school counselor. They should have a lot of helpful info. for you! Good luck!

I am an upcoming senior in high school. I want to major in health science…I am going to apply for scholarships and things you really need to talk with your high school counselor and also financial aid is out there to assist you…some students get into college without paying a dime so ask questions and always write those essays when it is required to receive scholarships and things….smiles and good luck to your future and mines in the world

If you aren’t sure what you want to major in, you can start out taking general classes (since most majors begin with two years of general classes anyway). You will probably want to stay instate. Out of state tuition is usually 3 or 4 times higher. If your parents can’t afford to pay for your tuition, they can help you cosign a loan that you wouldn’t have to pay for until you have finished college.
