If I’m required to do a minor, which is better?

I’m an Anthropology major. After I graduate, hopefully I’ll be able to go to graduate school. I’m still trying to decide between a master’s in public health or continuing in anthro. It’s a couple years away at any rate.

My school requires that I declare a minor. I’m trying to decide between Sociology and Biology. I find them rather interesting subjects that provide insight into my own major and personal interests. Which is better and why?

Both are excellent options for an anthropology major.

What you need to figure out is what do you want to do with your degree when you are done. When you decide this, what you minor in should become clear.

You take either Psychology or Biology as a minor. I’d go for Biology since Anthropology is already a Liberal Arts course. That would be more interesting if you like animals or plants, cells, microscopes, and stuff like that.

Psychology is also somewhat like Biology with a lesser emphasis on how the physical aspect and more on the mind. Sociology is fairly similar to Anthropology and I would not choose it.

f you plan to take Public health, either Psychology or Biology would be perfectly fine.

I would say it doesn’t matter–they’re both great options so for now, find the one that interests you the most at this moment and choose that.

On the other hand if you like both, chances are you’d be happy doing either so instead, try thinking about where you see yourself in ten to fifteen years and pick the one that most likely leads in that direction. If you’re thinking about public health for example, biology might be the way to go since it could open more doors in the health field, including medicine.

either are great . . . sociology is relatively similar to anthropology . . . if you decide to pursue anthropology in grad school, sociology would probably be better . . . but if you decide to pursue public health in grad school, biology would give you somewhat of a background

i would just go with what truly interests you more
