you can apply for federal aid, and a lot of colleges give out scholarships specifically for people who are in need. there’s actually a lot out there to help you.
edit: Okay, to the person below, there isn’t anythng that indicates where the question asker is from, so I don’t know how you determined that. But if you are indeed from outside the U.S., some schools might still use the fafsa or their own formula to determine your need. You should look up universities you’re interested in and ask them about what aid they have for international students.

You can apply for financial aid, but personally (for me), this hasn’t helped much because they don’t often give out as much money as people say they do. I would say go to a community college. They tend to be cheaper, and more “real world” oriented, so you can get a helpful degree. Since they don’t cost as much, you can work to pay for college, and they are a lot more willing (it seems to me) to aid financially.
