I need to know how to retrieve my pin from the Fafsa site that was emailed to me. It doesn’t work that way?

Go to the website below and request a duplicate PIN, make sure you still have the original Email address. You will need your social, first two letters of your last name, and your date of birth(don’t put dashes or anything.) If your email is different, or your physical address is different check no and go to the update information link, the PIN request through Email is supposed to be updated to have it send instantly, though it might not be working yet.

Go to fafsa.ed.gov and click on PIN on the top of the page. If you have already obtained a pin and need it resent, go to “request a duplicate pin”. enter your ssn, date of birth, and first 2 letters of last name. they will then send you another copy of your pin via email and mail. it can take a day to receive it via email and about a week via regular mail. hope that helps.

Go to http://www.pin.ed.gov and either apply for a new PIN or request that your PIN be sent to you. If you have an e-mail address on file they will send it that way, othewise it’ll come through the mail.

Don’t you have to wait a couple days or at least several hours before it gets e-mailed back to you?
