I’ll be graduating from college and transfering to University, so is it….?

worth attending the ceremony and wearing a cap and gown. I mean I’m only interested in receiving my diploma (AA Degree), and plus I should be graduating 2 years from now. So should I attend, I can if I want to, but should I? Ceremony ain’t until next summer but have to apply before the end of the year. Should I????? Thanks

Ceremonies are opportunities to share accomplishments with family and loved ones. It is also an opportunity to stand united with your classmates to commemorate a historic event.

Having said that, if the ceremony means nothing to you or your family (who probably made lots of sacrifices so that you could attend the college and the university in the future) then don’t. If you will not regret in the future having not marked that date in your memory, then I would say forget it.

But, if you would like the opportunity for your family to be able to stand proud with you and rejoice in what is a major accomplishment in your life, then by all means MARCH!

Good luck

Some do, some don’t. It really depends on how fondly you look back on your experience at the school. Personally, I’d ask around to see if any of your classmates are attending. Also ask your teachers what the ceremony has been like in the past, and if it has been well-attended. That should give you an idea of whether or not you’ll want to spend the time (and money to rent your cap/gown) to attend.
