I currently live in Illinois. I would like to get my teaching certificate here and then move?

to Minnesota. Would the certificate transfer easily?

i recieved my teaching cert from illinois state university and have just moved to az for my first year of teaching. they were able to give me a one year provisional cert – that means that i have one year to complete the exams for az’s teaching system, which is really sweet. i know from isu you are pretty much guaranteed a provisional cert for any state – i would suggest looking at the site below and give them a call to find out what states have reciprocity (a cert in one = a cert in the other) good luck!

It should. You may have to take their state board of ed exam(basic skills and/or content area), but I highly doubt it. It also depends where you are earning your certificate. To my acknowledgment, when you earn your certificate at National Louis University in Chicago, you are automatically certified to teach anywhere in the United States.
